Bologna Bootcamp Aftermovie

Koç University's Erasmus+ KA2 project ``Peacemakers`` had its third and final bootcamp organized in Bologna, Italy, between September 23-27, 2019, with the participation of 25 ``Peace Envoys`` from Koç University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Gaziantep University, Humboldt University and University of Bologna. Several scholars from the partner institutions delivered lectures on the political, historical, psychological and sociological contexts of international migration. Within the framework of the bootcamp, the Peace Envoys also had the chance to visit “Mosaico di Solidarieta”, as well as have a conversation session with the students in the UNI-CO-RE Project (University Corridors for Refugees, Ethiopia-UNIBO 2019-21).

Istanbul Bootcamp Aftermovie

Six months after the first boot camp of the Peacemakers project held at the premises of Erasmus University Rotterdam, the second boot camp was organized and held on the Koc University’s main campus in Istanbul between May 13-17, 2019. The “Peace Envoys” from Koç, Gaziantep, Bologna, Humboldt and Erasmus universities who are responsible for creating peace dialogue students’ clubs in their universities participated in this second boot camp. Scholars from partner universities delivered lectures on various contexts of migration, and guest lecturers talked about their social inclusion projects and real life experiences in the field. In addition to the lectures, peace envoys had a chance to participate in interactive activities such as “Human Library”, “Intercultural Communication Workshop” and “Interactive Session on Social Discrimination”, as well as visit NGOs working in the field including the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM) and the Community Center for Syrian Refugees “Refugees and Asylum Seekers Assistance and Solidarity Association (RASAS)”.

Rotterdam Bootcamp Aftermovie

Koç University's Erasmus+ KA2 project ``Peacemakers`` had its first bootcamp organized in Rotterdam, between November 19-23, with the participation of 20 ``Peace Envoys`` from Koç, Gaziantep, Bologna and Erasmus universities. Several scholars from these partner institutions delivered lectures on the political, historical, psychological and sociological contexts of international migration. Within the framework of the bootcamp, the Peace Envoys also had the chance to visit NGOs working in the field and have briefing and Q&A sessions with them. The field visits were to West-Afrika Stichting Migrant Development Association and Rotterdams Ongedocumenteerden Steunpunt (Rotterdam Undocumented Support Center).
